3L News: Draft Pool Revealed
Tuesday, December 26th , 2045
Menard's Third League divulged the 2045 list of eligible draftees today. It got little play in BNN coverage and why should it? Most players drafted in thirty days won't be on a big league club for years, if at all. Some will languish listlessly at the minor league level. Others will suffer a series of misfortunes, never quite making their mark, but always wowing scouts with their potential. And yet, some lucky team will draw a needle out of a haystack, send him off to the minors and forget about him for a while, only to realize they've got a Hall of Famer on their hands.
At any rate, teams now have thirty days to scout the draft pool prior to the draft. The Transactions page also gets a new section dedicated to the pool.
The early favorites to be high picks are the following: 1. Nick Long, 21 year-old LHP out of college. 2. Jeff Fields, 22 year-old CF out of college. 3. Rafael Trujillo, 21 year-old LHP out of college. 4. Thomas Zachary, 22 year-old RHP out of college. 5. Javier Villanueva, 22 year-old 3B out of college. 6. Chris Jackson, 22 year-old RHP out of college. 7. Elwood Lee, 20 year-old CF out of college. 8. Gerald Simmons, 21 year-old RHP out of college. 9. George Mayes, 22 year-old C out of college. 10. Bill Zimmerman, 22 year-old CF out of college.
The official OSA Mock Draft will be released on the day of the draft, or you can review the draft pool on the draft page.

Malone's Condition Worse, Suffers Another Setback
Monday, December 25th , 2045
Detroit starting pitcher Dudley Malone reportedly suffered a setback this week while rehabilitating a torn ulnar collateral ligament. Preliminary tests showed the injury had gotten worse and would need more time to be completely healed. An unidentified team official said it looked like it would be at least 10 months before Malone would be able to return to the active roster. Malone will see a specialist tomorrow.
His lifetime totals give Malone 12 victories and 10 defeats with a 5.31 ERA.
