The New Orleans Voodoo got a superb performance from shortstop Colm Goodwill, but the Portland Evergreens still won the game, 9-7. Goodwill was named the player of the game despite the loss. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win was Keith Rojas's in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Lawrence Lane took the loss for New Orleans. Portland is second in the Premier League with a record of 27-17.

Portland used the clutch hitting of Willie McGirt to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Evergreens ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We maximized our offense today," said Portland skipper Brandon Slouck. "That makes everyone's life easier."
