Mora in Hospital After Electrical Mishap

Hawks starting pitcher Javier Mora is recovering at a local hospital today and is reportedly in fair condition after suffering a severe electrical shock at his home yesterday. According to team officials Mora, had been doing some remodeling in his basement when he was electrocuted by an exposed wire. An initial report late last night indicated Mora was unconscious when an ambulance arrived and that he may have gone into cardiac arrest while being transported to the hospital, but that rumor could not be substantiated today. "Frankly, he's lucky to be alive," said teammate Austin Stewart, who visited Mora in the hospital this morning. "His doctors say his prognosis is very good, but he's gonna be out of commission for a little while." A hospital spokesman indicated that Mora will likely be released tomorrow. However, team officials suggest it may be at least a week before he will be allowed to return to full activity.

3L News: Draft Pool Revealed

Scouts have begun to salivate. The list of players for the first-year player draft has been released by the league office and speculation is already beginning about who will end up as the first pick. The list has been posted under the transaction section of the BNN site and will be there for the next 30 days leading up to draft day.
Teams now have a chance to scout the draft pool 65 days before the draft is held.
The top players available (in no particular order) seem to be:
1. Tim Stanley, 20 year-old 2B out of college.
2. Melvin Thomas, 18 year-old CF out of high-school.
3. Turner Alexander, 18 year-old RHP out of high-school.
4. Jake Gates, 22 year-old LHP out of college.
5. Bill James, 21 year-old LHP out of college.
6. Ed Campbell, 18 year-old 1B out of high-school.
7. Craig Morgan, 22 year-old SS out of college.
8. Greg Santos, 21 year-old RHP out of college.
9. Chris Hayes, 18 year-old LHP out of high-school.
10. Ray Carey, 17 year-old CF out of high-school.
