For a rookie just breaking in, Sancho Balderas certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the 3L Batter of the Month award for October.
The 16-year-old shortstop for the Richardson City Thundercats hit .000 with no home runs, 0 RBIs and no runs scored.

For baseball junkies, today's salary arbitration hearings provide a fix during Menard's Third League's long offseason. For general managers, agents and ballplayers, the hearings are often sheer misery as discussions about a player's statistics or quality of play leave everyone with a bad taste in their mouths. Most arbitration hearings result in hard feelings on one side or the other. The hearings will be completed today with the results announced tomorrow.
