Chicago, Toledo Deal Made

Chicago and Toledo announced some roster changes today as the Gold Sox acquired 24-year-old third baseman Herman Hayes from the Titans in exchange for 30-year-old starting pitcher Devin Hinton. Representatives from both teams say they are pleased with the deal.
Since coming into the league, Hinton has a 25-10 mark and a 2.92 ERA. The 30-year-old hurler also has struck out 217 batters in 296 innings and permitted 242 hits.

Chicago, Hartford Trade Made

The Baseball News Network is reporting that Chicago and Hartford have agreed in principle to a swap that will send 30-year-old starting pitcher Guillermo Pérez and 29-year-old third baseman Norm Ortega to the Whalers with 25-year-old third baseman Tyrone Scott joining the Gold Sox. Chicago's general manager would not confirm the trade, but a team representative close to the negotiations said the deal is official and is now only awaiting approval from the league.
During his career Ortega is batting .284 and has totaled 13 home runs.
Scott has 138 career hits with a .311 batting average and 22 home runs.

Swap: for Ellis

Toledo and Boston have agreed in principle to a trade. The Titans will send nothing to the Patriots for 34-year-old starting pitcher Edwin Ellis. The deal is expected to be finalized shortly and the clubs will be introducing their new players to the press when the paperwork is complete.
