Another Setback for Chavarría, Forced To Retire

José Chavarría's bid to resume his baseball career is over. Tests revealed the 26-year-old Wilmington starting pitcher has suffered a career-ending injury. Chavarría was undergoing extensive rehabilitation in hopes of repairing a bone spur in his elbow, but suffered a severe setback while working out and will be forced to retire.
During his career Chavarría has registered a 22-21 record with a 5.54 ERA.
