McNally Slams 5 Hits for Monroeville
Friday, July 14th , 2056
Fans at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium got to see not only a home-team victory today, but also one of the most impressive feats of hitting of the season.
The Monroeville Yinzers outplayed the Pontiac Godfathers en route to a 8-7 win, but the standout was first baseman Chris McNally. McNally netted 5 hits in 5 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line.
"Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Godfathers manager Allen Yohemas said in postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too."
Chris McNally hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 5th, walked in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 10th.
McNally is hitting .234 for the season with 4 home runs, 24 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 40 hits in 171 at-bats and played in 52 games.
