Patriots, Voodoo Play 17 to Settle Game 1, Boston Now Leads Series 1-0
|
The Boston Patriots took the first game of the ToC Semi-Finals in dramatic fashion today, topping the New Orleans Voodoo 4-3 in an extra-inning walk-off win. Patriots right-hander Iiri Lahti threw 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 17th inning, when Boston right fielder Matsuo Ino, facing Jack MacAlonie, had a run-scoring double. It gave the Patriots the 4-3 win.
"It was terrific getting this win," Lahti said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dunkin Donuts Park in Boston.
