Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the New Orleans Voodoo got the win.
The Vancouver Grey Wolves got a superb performance from pitcher Fernando Ríos, but the New Orleans Voodoo still won the game, 3-2. Ríos threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. New Orleans starter Anthony Coleman was credited with the win after throwing 93 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 8-4.
New Orleans used the timely hitting of Ed Mooney to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Voodoo on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Mooney.
New Orleans, at 47-41, occupies third place in the Premier League.
