The D.C. Divided defeated the Vancouver Grey Wolves, 6-1, in United States Premier League action at Washington Stadium. Osvaldo Ardiles pulled his weight. The 12-year veteran went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. D.C. has a 4-game win streak, while Vancouver has lost 3 in a row.
The Divided got an important contribution from second baseman Shi-ping Le, who in the bottom of the first knocked a 1-0 slider into right-center for a 2-run double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Divided ahead, 3-0.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said D.C. manager Jonathan Gerth.
