The St. Louis Coeur weathered a fine game by Long Island center fielder Jerry Cure to upend the Lighthouse, 8-4, at The BFIB. Cure went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. St. Louis's record now stands at 34-45, placing them 7th in the Premier League.

Joe Saunders had a clutch at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for the Coeur. Coming up with the bases loaded and St. Louis trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Saunders. "And not try to do too much."
