White Walkers Slap 3-2 Loss on Piranhas
|
Mario Gonzáles was outstanding against Panama City. The right-hander had a cutter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a White Walkers 3-2 win. Gonzáles, the winner, moves to 2-8. He threw 6.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. The 8th-place White Walkers have a record of 32-43.
Buffalo used the timely hitting of Darryl Stansberry to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the White Walkers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Mario was Mario," said White Walkers manager Chris Lau. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
