|
Seattle Rocketeers starter Bob Kelso hurled his team past the Athletic Club KC, 5-2. Kelso went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 7-4. Todd Johnson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Seattle relied on the bat of Eugene Hollands to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Rocketeers ahead, 4-2. For the game, Hollands had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"I had a good game plan," said Kelso. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Andrew Powell said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
