The Seattle Rocketeers topped the Boston Patriots, 4-2, in United States Premier League action at Boeing Dome. The game was highlighted by the performance of Seattle pitcher Tom Johnston. The winning pitcher was Johnston, now 7-5. He tossed 8.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 8. The 4th-place Rocketeers improved to 30-30.

The Rocketeers got an important contribution from right fielder Eugene Hollands, who in the bottom of the first hit a circle change into right for a 2-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Rocketeers ahead, 3-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Hollands told the Seattle Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
