Bonilla Lifts Voodoo to 8-5 Triumph
|
New Orleans third baseman Jesús Bonilla had a 5-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Boston Patriots, 8-5. Anthony Coleman picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-1. He struck out 8 in 6 innings. The save went to George Atwater, number 11 for him.
Bonilla contributed a big hit, a 2-run triple, for New Orleans in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Bonilla took a fastball from Luis Rosário and stroked the triple to left. His 1st triple of the season allowed the Voodoo to leap in front, 2-1.
"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Bonilla.
New Orleans now sits at 22-14, while Boston falls to 23-13.
