Lighthouse Fall Short at D.C., 4-3
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the D.C. Divided and Long Island Lighthouse.
The D.C. Divided beat the Long Island Lighthouse, 4-3. D.C. pitcher and Colton, California, native Gregory Collins led the way. David Guzmán, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 3 runs on 2 hits.
In the bottom of the ninth, with no one out and the game tied, 3-3, third baseman Juan Neváres won it for D.C.. With a runner on 2nd, Neváres hit a first pitch fastball from Imbart Theunen for a run-scoring double, giving his team the 4-3 win.
"This place was rockin'," Collins said.
D.C. is now 15-15. Long Island is 10-20.
