Caguioa Hits Two Dingers, Coeur Win, 6-2
|
Neyo Caguioa was a major factor in the 6-2 St. Louis win over Boston. The Coeur third baseman went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. George Law, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 3-2. Thad Parker picked up the save, his 1st.
St. Louis relied on the hitting of Marcos Iglecias to pick up the win. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Coeur on top, 3-1. For the game, Iglecias had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Postgame, Coeur manager Scott McMahon complimented Caguioa. "No question about it. Crazylegs was terrific."
The Coeur now have a mark of 12-15.
