SS Cruz Receives 3-Game Suspension Thursday, September 23rd , 2055 The league commissioner's office has notified the Baltimore Bullets that shortstop Enrique Cruz has been given a 3-game suspension for his involvement in an incident with the home plate umpire in yesterday's Baltimore-Long Island game at Baltimore Grounds. After being called out on a pitch that he deemed a ball, Cruz aggressively expressed his displeasure and was promptly ejected from the game. In the league suspension notice, it stated that he was suspended for making an obscene gesture toward the umpires prior to entering the dugout. The league said that type of behavior would not be tolerated. Cruz and the Bullets were unavailable for comment. Batting .237 to date, Cruz has 3 home runs and 19 RBIs. |
