SL News Flash: Draft Pool Revealed
Saturday, December 25th , 2055
For would-be rookies, a list of whom was announced today by the league, the wait to find out whether or not they have been selected is excruciating. It's tough just getting a scout to notice you, to think you are worth investing an organization's future in. Then draft day arrives and you are snatched up by someone you might not have expected. Some will catch on big; others will be away from home for the first time and will struggle to gain a solid footing in the minors. Still others will battle through, gain that coveted footing and go on to have a solid professional career.
League officials have made this information available for all clubs in a new section of the Transactions page. Teams now have a chance to scout the draft pool for 65 days before the draft is held.
The early favorites to be high picks are the following: 1. Mike Pacheco, 18 year-old LF out of high-school. 2. Leland Dixon, 21 year-old CF out of college. 3. Germán Gutiérrez, 17 year-old CF out of high-school. 4. Phil Henderson, 18 year-old LF out of high-school. 5. Pat Sheppard, 18 year-old 2B out of high-school. 6. Stu Jones, 17 year-old CF out of high-school. 7. Bill Adams, 17 year-old RF out of high-school. 8. Frederick Shaw, 23 year-old CF out of college. 9. Palmer Kent, 22 year-old SS out of college. 10. Brian Black, 17 year-old CF out of high-school.
The official OSA Mock Draft will be released on the day of the draft, or you can review the draft pool on the draft page.

Jordan Visits Children at Cancer Treatment Center
Saturday, December 25th , 2055
Knights third baseman Oliver Jordan took time out from his busy schedule today to visit a local children's cancer treatment center. Jordan signed autographs and took pictures with many of the young patients. He even gave several of them caps, jerseys, and gloves. "Just seeing the smiles on these kids' faces, knowing what they've gone through, it just warms your heart", said a beaming Jordan. When asked who his favorite player was, one little boy smiled broadly and exclaimed, "Oliver Jordan!"
