Losing Streak Continues for Stingers with 3-2 Loss to Oaks
|
The Oakland Oaks topped the Toledo Stingers, 3-2, in United States Silver League action at Pacesetter Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Oakland pitcher Scott Bishop. In 6.1 innings, Bishop surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Oakland is 45-44 and Toledo, with the loss, 32-57.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Conrad Hickey? The Oakland shortstop had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Oaks on top, 3-0. For the game, Hickey had 1 double and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"This losing is getting old," said Toledo manager TJ Reynolds.
