Hollywood Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
The Hollywood Shredders have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading New Orleans Voodoo, winning 8-2 at The Hollywood Bowl today. Shredders third baseman Víctor Pagueros went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Shredders to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Tournament of Champions.

Tom Smythe dealt the Voodoo a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Hollywood trailing 1-0, Smythe, who finished 4th in the 3L in extra base hits with 55 in 2043, hit a first pitch cutter for a 2-run double.

Smythe said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Hollywood Bowl in West Hollywood.
