Kingfishers Earn 4-3 Win Versus Oaks
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Pittsburgh Kingfishers got the win.
The Oakland Oaks got a sterling performance from pitcher Roland Jamison, but the Pittsburgh Kingfishers still prevailed, 4-3. Jamison threw 8.1 innings of 7-hit ball. The 5th-place Oaks have lost 4 consecutive games.
Pittsburgh used a clutch hit from Kjartan Einarsson to get the win. The shortstop drilled a solo home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Kingfishers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll savor this win," Einarsson told the Pittsburgh Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
