Athletic Club KC Lose to Piranhas, 7-3
|
Panama City right fielder Puck Broekhuizen helped his team beat the Athletic Club KC, 7-3. Broekhuizen, who led the PL in slugging percentage with .600 last year, went 2 for 2 for the Piranhas. Arthur Anderson earned the save for Panama City, his 1st of the year. The Piranhas, now 5-11, have not found much traction so far in 2055.
Broekhuizen contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Panama City in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Broekhuizen took a fastball from Jeffrey Garrett and stroked the double to left-center. His 3rd double of the season allowed the Piranhas to leap in front, 4-2.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Broekhuizen told the Panama City Gazette.
