Costa Slugs Rocketeers to 7-3 Win
Getting offensive support from José Costa, the Seattle Rocketeers topped the Boston Patriots, 7-3. Costa went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Rocketeers. Wing-fung Quan, the winner, improved to 2-7. He held the Patriots to 3 runs on 6 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 1. Seattle has now won 5 games in a row.

Costa contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Seattle in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Costa took a cutter from Iiri Lahti and stroked the home run to left. His 13th home run of the season allowed the Rocketeers to leap in front, 4-2.

Costa called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
