Win Streak Now at 6 for Athletic Club KC
|
The Athletic Club KC overcame a good performance by Vancouver third baseman Basilio Penni to knock off Vancouver, 5-4, at Wolf Den in Vancouver. Penni went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Conor March got the win, improving to 6-8. He worked 6 innings, giving up 4 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. The Athletic Club KC go to 41-37, putting them 5th in the Premier League.
Vasan Parthiban took Jorge Souza deep in the top of the third. His 3-run home run put the Athletic Club KC on top, 3-0. In all, Parthiban had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Parthiban. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
