Rocketeers Down Grey Wolves, 6-3
|
In the 6-3 Seattle win over Vancouver, the impact of Bill Miller was substantial. Miller went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. Perry Cox earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. The save went to Terry Lesage, his 13th this season.
Rubén Nuañez was 1 for 3 with 2 walks for Seattle. The two-time Gold Bat winner had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Yaichiro Shini. It was his 28th walk of the season.
In postgame comments to the Seattle Daily News, Miller said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
With the victory, the Rocketeers record now stands at 30-31.
