Cattlemen Beat Piranhas, 3-1
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen and Panama City Piranhas played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen got a magnificent effort from pitcher Javier Ariza, who kept Panama City hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Cattlemen win at The Cattle Pen. Ariza went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 5-2. Luke Corner collected his 13th save.
The Cattlemen got a big at-bat from shortstop José Altagracia, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Cattlemen on top, 2-0.
Altagracia said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The Cattlemen now have a mark of 25-14.
