St. Louis Bats Go Silent in 1-0 Loss
|
St. Louis wasted a solid 6-inning effort from starting pitcher George Law, losing to Boston, 1-0, at Dunkin Donuts Park. Byron Cramphorn collected save number 1. Boston is 11-15 and St. Louis, with the loss, 13-13.
The Coeur had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Patriots going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the top prospect Terumoto Nakanishi came to the plate. Nakanishi hit a solo home run on a first pitch fastball from St. Louis hurler George Law. It was Nakanishi's 1st home run of the year.
Nakanishi said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
