The Oakland Oaks got a good effort from starter Scott Bishop in defeating the D.C. Divided at The Oak Grove. The final score was 1-0. The win was credited to Jason Kofod in relief. His record improves to 6-5. Van Hileman took the loss. With the win, Oakland upped its record to 54-49.
Had Ostoja Popovic not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Popovic hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Oaks.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said D.C. skipper Jonathan Gerth.
