The Oakland Oaks got a superb performance from pitcher Nick Stewart. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Kingston Township. The Knights won the game, 4-3. Stewart threw 7.2 innings of 6-hit ball. Kingston Township reliever Jonathan Luna picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Urmas Koskela shouldered the loss. Kingston Township goes to 53-37, Oakland to 39-51.
Kingston Township used a clutch hit from Rashid Qutaybah to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Knights ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Oakland manager DAshley GoAs.
