Hollywood Bats Go Silent in 4-0 Loss
|
The St. Louis Coeur topped the Hollywood Shredders, 4-0, with first baseman Thomas Zachary playing a big role. Zachary went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Coeur in the win. St. Louis reliever Luis Estrada picked up the win, upping his record to 6-0. Ismael Mena was saddled with the loss. Thad Parker, credited with the save, is now 2 for 4 in save opportunities.
The Coeur got a big at-bat from third baseman Neyo Caguioa. For the game, Caguioa was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave St. Louis a 2-0 lead.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Hollywood skipper Bill Cheese, "and it cost us."
St. Louis leads the Silver League by 7 games.
