Lighthouse Win at Baltimore, 8-3
|
António Macías was a vital contributor to the 8-3 Long Island victory over Baltimore. The Lighthouse third baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Howard Randolph, the winner, improved to 7-3. He held Baltimore to 3 runs on 6 hits over 6.2 innings, while racking up 13 strikeouts. John Ellis notched his 2nd save in 5 chances.
Long Island relied on the hitting of Sasha Mamchenko to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Lighthouse on top, 4-0. For the game, Mamchenko had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Macías.
Long Island is now 41-32, while Baltimore is 28-45.
