Elliot Banks was a major factor in the 5-3 Dayton win over Oakland. The Dirty Reds left fielder was 2-3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jorge González got the win, improving to 5-8. He worked 7.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. The 8th-place Dirty Reds lifted their record to 27-44.

Banks contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Dayton in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Banks took a fastball from Nick Stewart and stroked the home run to right-center. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Dirty Reds to leap in front, 3-2.

"It was a good effort all around," said Banks.
