Dayton rode a fine outing from starter Eugene Phillips to victory over the Oakland Oaks at Lang Park. The final score was 4-2. The winning pitcher was Phillips, now 3-5. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. The Dirty Reds sport a record of 26-44.
With two out in the bottom of the seventh, António López had a game-changing hit. The Dirty Reds pinch hitter slammed a 2-run single off Roland Jamison, making the score 4-2, Dayton.
