Late Magic Gets Hollywood 4-3 Win
|
The Hollywood Shredders did just enough to sneak past the Dayton Dirty Reds, 4-3, at Lang Park. Hollywood pitcher Zosimo Pavlakakis, in particular, had a standout performance. Félix Hernández earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 6-5. At 25-44, Hollywood is in last place in the Silver League.
Hollywood used a timely hit from Richard Marshall to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Shredders ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
After the game, Hollywood manager Bill Cheese applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
