Dayton Topples Hollywood, 3-1
|
Lang Park was the site of a tense game between the Hollywood Shredders and Dayton Dirty Reds.
Frank Randolf pitched well, but the Hollywood Shredders still lost the game, falling 3-1 to the Dayton Dirty Reds at Lang Park. Dayton reliever Alonso Salazar picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Frank Randolf was saddled with the loss.
The Dirty Reds got an important contribution from left fielder Elliot Banks, who in the bottom of the sixth hit a sinker into center for a 2-run double. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Dirty Reds ahead, 3-1.
Afterward, Dirty Reds manager David Dodds was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
Dayton currently is in 9th place in the Silver League at 25-43.
