Archie MacMurchy never let the Dirty Reds get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Stingers to a win, 5-1. MacMurchy went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 5-4. The win gives Toledo a season record of 34-32.

The Stingers got a lift from designated hitter José Santos, who in the bottom of the second hit a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season put the Stingers on top, 3-0.

MacMurchy described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
