Stingers Hand Lighthouse 2-0 Loss
|
Pitcher Archie MacMurchy was sensational for the Toledo Stingers in his team's 2-0 triumph over the Long Island Lighthouse. MacMurchy picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Toledo has a record of 31-32, placing them 6th in the Silver League.
Toledo used a clutch hit from Nando van der Goor to get the win. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Stingers ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said van der Goor.
