Bullets Get One-Run Win at Hollywood
|
The Baltimore Bullets picked up a win at The Hollywood Bowl, taking down the Hollywood Shredders, 4-3. Starting pitcher Kris Collins was a big reason why. Collins, now 2-7, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Gene Greene was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities.
Baltimore relied on the hitting of Randolph White to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Bullets on top, 4-1. For the game, White had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Hollywood manager Bill Cheese. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
Baltimore is now 25-36, while Hollywood is 20-41.
