Tate Lifts Shredders to 9-6 Win
|
Hollywood and Oakland got after it at The Hollywood Bowl.
The Hollywood Shredders saddled the Oakland Oaks with a loss at The Hollywood Bowl. The final score was 9-6. Dustin Tate was 3 for 4, including 2 singles and 1 home run. The Hollywood second baseman scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Félix Hernández picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-5. Kai Ryssdal was tagged with the loss.
António Taváres, the Hollywood catcher, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the score 9-6, Shredders. For the game, Taváres went 1 for 3 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Shredders manager Bill Cheese wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
The Shredders are now 14-37, while the Oaks fall to 21-30.
