Coeur Best Dirty Reds, 3-2
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Lang Park. But Marcos Iglecias conjured up just enough offense to carry the Coeur past the Dayton Dirty Reds, 3-2. Iglecias went 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Doug Santamarina got the win, improving to 5-1. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. The save went to Claude Richardson, number 19 for him.
In the top of the sixth, Iglecias put his team in front with his 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against Yin-reng Fong, made it 3-1, St. Louis.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Iglecias. "But I have better dreams after a win."
St. Louis's record now stands at 32-15, placing them first in the Silver League.
