Karshev Leads Bullets to 9-6 Win Over Shredders
|
Alexander Karshev was a major factor in the 9-6 Baltimore win over Hollywood. The Bullets right fielder was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the save was Eddy Boyd, his 2nd. The slumping Shredders have lost 12 straight.
Karshev contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Baltimore in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-0, Karshev took a fastball from Félix Hernández and stroked the double to center. His 5th double of the season allowed the Bullets to leap in front, 3-2.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Hollywood manager Bill Cheese.
