|
Long Island rode a fine outing from starter Aaron Daniels to victory over the Oakland Oaks at The Lighthouse. The final score was 4-1. Daniels went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 3-1. Imbart Theunen collected save number 5.
The Lighthouse got an important contribution from designated hitter Oasiz Wiesblatt, who in the bottom of the first knocked a 1-2 fastball into left-center for a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Lighthouse ahead, 3-0.
Daniels expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
Long Island goes to 10-9.
