Oaks Take Down Dirty Reds, 2-1
|
Miguel Velázquez never let the Dirty Reds get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Oaks to a win, 2-1. Urmas Koskela, now 8-2, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Terry Lesage earned the save, his 27th.
Had Tom Bleasdale not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Bleasdale hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Oaks.
"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Bleasdale.
Oakland has now won 4 in a row.
