Loss to Rocketeers Extends Dayton Losing Streak
|
The Seattle Rocketeers picked up a win at Boeing Dome, knocking off the Dayton Dirty Reds, 5-2. Starting pitcher Virgil Dickerson played a key role in the triumph. Dickerson, the winner, moves to 11-5. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. Billy Richardson, credited with the save, is now 13 for 15 in save opportunities.
U-ram Chong, who leads the SL in RBI with 74, helped out the Seattle cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the first baseman went 2-2 with a double and 2 walks.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Dickerson told the Seattle Gazette.
Dayton's current losing streak is now 6 games.
