Bullets Lose to Stingers, 4-3
|
The Toledo Stingers topped the Baltimore Bullets, 4-3, in United States Silver League action at Pacesetter Park. The standout performance belonged to Toledo pitcher and Perris, California, native Eric Riley. In 6.1 innings, Riley surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. With the win, Toledo upped its record to 54-50.
The Stingers got an important contribution from first baseman Andrew Smith, who in the bottom of the first knocked a 3-1 fastball into left for a 2-run double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Stingers ahead, 3-0.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Riley said.
