The Long Island Lighthouse picked up a win at Pacesetter Park, courtesy of Jesús Ramírez. The left-hander helped his team stop the Toledo Stingers, 3-0. The win puts Long Island at 57-42 this season.
Long Island needed the clutch hitting of Sasha Mamchenko to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Lighthouse on top, 2-0. For the game, Mamchenko had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Long Island manager Michael Esposito said.
