The St. Louis Coeur racked up a win at The BFIB, bumping off the Oakland Oaks, 4-3. Cisco Hernández, who started for St. Louis, pitched effectively for his team. St. Louis reliever Claude Richardson picked up the win, raising his record to 5-5. Amin Yahouse was tagged with the loss. St. Louis improves to 63-31 with the win. They lead their division by 6½ games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when St. Louis shortstop Mitsuoki Kogawa, facing Amin Yahouse, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Coeur the 4-3 win.
"The vibe's good," said St. Louis manager Scott McMahon. "We've got to keep it going."
