Paco Sandoval pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The MSL Charleston Battery, despite Sandoval's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the MSL Kingston Township Knights at MSL Charleston Ballpark. The winner in relief was Ronaldo Muñóz. He is now 2-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. The win gives MSL Kingston Township a record of 7-1.

Bob Metternich had an important at-bat with no one out in the top of the fourth, when he hit a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season put MSL Kingston Township on top, 2-1.

"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Metternich.
