The San Mateo Dirty Reds picked up a win at Lang Park, knocking off the Greenville 84s, 5-3. On the mound for San Mateo was left-hander Yin-reng Fong, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 7.1 innings, Fong surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. San Mateo now has a 3-game win streak.

The 84s had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Dirty Reds going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the slugging second baseman Shi-ping Le came to the plate. Le hit a 2-run double on a 0-1 fastball from Greenville hurler Jim Jordan. It was Le's 14th double of the year.
